Braedon Townsend

Braedon Townsend is a Clinical Psychologist, Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner, and Victim’s Services Counsellor. He has experience working with people across the life span, from children to older adults. Braedon has specialised in working in clinical treatment and assessment of families and children, worked on comprehensive longitudinal research on the risk factors in adolescent wellbeing, and published research into wellbeing barriers for older adults.

Braedon holds a Master of Clinical Psychology from the University of Macquarie, a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from the University of Macquarie, Diploma of Family Dispute Resolution from the Mediation Institute, and a Bachelor of Arts in Communications (Journalism) from the University of Technology Sydney. Braedon is a member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association, Association of Family and Conciliation Courts,  a Family Dispute Resolution Practitioner registered with the Attorney General’s Department, and an approved Victim’s Services Counsellor in NSW. 

At Mind Plasticity, Braedon works with clients with a range of mental health conditions including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD and more. He has worked extensively with children and adults with developmental disabilities and those on the autism spectrum. Braedon believes that person-centered healthcare means meeting a comprehensive understanding of one’s background with respect and compassion. He strives for collaboration in his approach, offering clients the evidence-base knowledge to help them work toward their goals. In addition to his work at Mind Plasticity, Braedon conducts Family Dispute Resolution, and conducts Single Expert Children and Family assessments for the Family Court.
