Florence is a registered psychologist who provides therapy to individuals, couples and families. She offers a compassionate and reflective space to explore personal questions, relationship patterns, and the often unspoken influence of social and cultural contexts on mental health and wellbeing.
Florence works with a range of presenting concerns, such as emotional and mood difficulties, addiction, struggles with self-esteem, interpersonal and work stress, relationship conflict, grief and loss, complex trauma and chronic and serious health conditions.
Before training as a psychologist, Florence was a sociologist and university lecturer for over a decade. This background gives her a deep understanding of how a person’s family, social, and cultural experiences can profoundly shape their sense of self and relationships in the world.
Florence’s qualifications include a Master of Clinical Psychology (Australian Catholic University), a PhD in Sociology (University of New South Wales), and a Master of Narrative Therapy and Community Work (University of Melbourne/the Dulwich Centre). She has clinical experience in both private and public mental health settings.
In addition to her role at Mind Plasticity, Florence holds a position as Clinical Psychologist at Nepean Hospital (Supportive and Palliative Care).
