Mr Bradley Whitwell | Mental Health Nurse | Chronobiologist
Bradley commenced with Mind Plasticity in January of 2017.
Bradley’s background is in mental health nursing. He is a Chronobiologist, delivers our Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation, coordinates our Clozapine Clinic, specialises in Treatment Refractory Illness and Cardio-Metabolic Comorbidity, and is a Clinical lecturer at Sydney Medical School/ University of Sydney. Bradley has worked across Sydney in a broad array of clinical roles as well as senior management positions.
Previous to Mind Plasticity, he delivered clinical services at the Brain & Mind Research Institute, The Charles Perkins Centre for Cardio-Metabolic health and the Collaborative Centre for Cardio Metabolic Health in Psychosis. His publications predominately are in the areas of: Sleep and circadian regulation relating to neurodevelopment disorders of the brain & mind, Cardiovascular & metabolic health, Clinical staging in mental health, Clozapine and its health implications on health, Suicide prevention, Clinical practice standards, and Alcohol and substance use.
He has contributed chapters in academic text books and developed many training manuals. Current areas of research include High density EEG sleep investigation in schizophrenia, Sleep spindles as biomarkers of cognitive deficits in schizophrenia, and Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in depression.
